A 4-inch MicroLongRange foldable design that shrinks 70% when folded — pocketable for travel and landscape filming. Sub-250g takeoff, ~120g bare drone, X-frame for symmetric handling, GM8 GPS for return-to-home, DJI 1504 long-life motor. The analog version costs roughly half what comparable drones go for.
The folding arms are locked in flight position with two screws once unfolded — once tightened, the rigidity is identical to a fixed-arm frame. Carbon-fibre arms plus carbon-fibre prop clamps with ±0.05 mm precision metal sleeves eliminate the vibration and folding issues of typical foldables. Even hard freestyle flips and crash tumbles will not collapse the arms.
20 minutes on a 3S 1150 mAh LiPo, 30 minutes on a 3S 3000 mAh 18650 pack. Up to 10 km link range when paired with the DJI O3 Air Unit. Top speed reaches 105 km/h. Weight stays under 250 g at takeoff including the recommended 1150 mAh battery.

A larger GPS antenna receives a stronger satellite signal and locks onto more sats, faster — that translates to a more reliable Return-to-Home and a tighter position hold. On long-range missions over open terrain or water, the larger GM8 module is what gets the drone home when the link drops or a battery sags unexpectedly. Yes for recreational pilots — the FoldApe4 takeoff weight stays below 250 g with the recommended battery, placing it in EU Open Category A1 with minimal restrictions and no registration in most EU countries.
